Resting its top runners for next week's Pre-Nationals, the Eli cross country team nevertheless had a solid showing at the New Englands, finishing 21st overall out of 47 teams at Boston's Franklin Park.

The Bulldogs finished with 613 points.

Captain Robert Dwyer was Yale's top finisher, coming in 37th with a time of 25:30. He was followed on the scoreboard by teammates Nathan Clute (26:23, 108th), Mark Turner (26:42, 143rd), Brian Gertzen (26:54, 161st) and Stephen Carden (26:55, 164th).

Reed Mauser and Miles Farmer rounded out the lineup with times of 26:56 and 27:25, but their times did not count toward the overall score.

Last week, Yale's Lukas Meyer set a school record at Franklin Park, finishing in 24:27, but he was rested this week and did not compete.

Providence College won the event with 40 points.
