Nov. 17, 2007
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - This weekend, the Elis closed their season in style at the IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Despite missing three of their top four finishers from last week's regional meet, the Bulldogs still managed to place sixth with a score of 178 points, behind the sixth place finish of junior Jared Bell.
Georgetown won the meet with a score 38 points, led by the individual win of Daniel Nunn, who crossed the line in 25:13.
Bell ran the 8,000-meter course in a formidable time of 25:26, a 20 second personal best for the course. Not far behind was junior Murat Kayali, who finished 21st in at time of 25:45. The scoring was rounded out by senior captain Tadhg O'Callaghan (40th, 26:01), sophomore Maxwell Brown (41st, 26:02) and freshman Max Walden 79th 26:35.
This race was the first time that Brown and Walden finished in Yale's top five this season.
Now that the cross country season has concluded, the Bulldogs will return to competition this winter for the indoor track season, which begins in December.
