Feb. 22, 2007

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - For the 12th straight season, the Yale men's cross country team has been selected for Division I All-Academic Cross Country Team honors by the USTFCCCA. Yale had the third-highest cumulative grade-point average (3.530) of all the teams honored nationwide.

To be honored as an All-Academic Team, teams must compete in an NCAA regional meet and have at least a cumulative team GPA of 3.0. Yale finished eighth at the NCAA Northeast Regional last November.

Wright State had the highest cumulative GPA of any of the All-Academic teams (3.707), followed by Weber State (3.540) and Yale. The Bulldogs had the highest GPA of any Ivy League team.

Iona (3.170) won the USTFCCCA's All-Academic Men's Cross Country Team of the Year honors based on its third-place at the 2006 NCAA Championships. The Team of the Year is awarded to the highest-finishing school at the NCAA Championships that meets All-Academic team qualifications.
