Two Yale Boats Advance At Henley Women's Regatta

All Four Bulldog Boats In Semifinals

HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England - Both Yale boats that raced on Saturday advanced at the Henley Women's Regatta on the Thames River. The Bulldogs' elite four with coxswain defeated the Thames Rowing Club by a half-a-length, finishing in a time of 5:28. The Yale senior eight cruised to a win over Dublin University with a time of 5:02.

The elite four with coxswain of Mia Kanak, Emily Matykiewicz, Allix Wilde, Armine Afeyan and Dara Dickson races Nottingham Minerva in the semifinals on Sunday morning.

The senior eight of coxswain Sarah Brownlee, Catherine McDermott, Elizabeth McDermott, Stephanie Madner, Karrin Weisenthal, Mary Pat Wixted, Kathleen O'Keefe, Roxanne Carini and Katherine Adams also earned a berth in the semifinal.

Yale's elite eight of coxswain Berkley Adrio, Taylor Ritzel, Cara Dermody, Tess Gerrand, Maren McCrea, Caroline Nash, Christina Person, Alice Henly and Christine Glandorf had a bye into the semifinals and will race the Thames Rowing Club on Sunday.

The elite four without a coxswain of Lauren Richards, Rebecca Nadal, Lee Glandorf and Alexandra Thompson also earned a bye into the semifinals. The Bulldogs face the Vesta Rowing Club on Sunday.

All of the finals are on Sunday afternoon.

Yale arrived in England last Sunday and had the opportunity to do a little sightseeing during the week. The team visited the Hampton Court Palace and Dorney Lake, the site of the 2012 London Games rowing venue.
