Yale Announces Class of 2014
Yale womens crew announces an impressive group of student athletes who have committed to Yale as the Class of 2014. The group of nine includes eight rowers and a coxswain. Seven of the nine have ties to the USA Jr. National Team system and one comes from the UK Jr. National Team.

Yale Wins Princeton Three-Mile Chase for Third Straight Year
The Yale women's crew team finished its fall season with a strong win at the Princeton Three-Mile Chase on Sunday. The Bulldogs took first, sixth, 13th and 38th place in the Women's Varsity Eight at Lake Carnegie. The first place finish for the "Yale A" boat signifies a "three-peat" for the Yale women at the Princeton Three-Mile Chase.

Bulldogs to Wrap Up Fall Season With Princeton Three-Mile Chase
The Yale women's crew team will finish up its fall season this Sunday, Oct. 25, with the Princeton Three-Mile Chase regatta. The Princeton Three-Mile Chase is an invitational head-race for men and womens collegiate crews, and it will take place on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, NJ.

Bulldogs Finish First Among Collegiate Teams at Head of the Charles
The Yale women's crew team turned in a very strong performance this weekend at the Head of the Charles regatta in Cambridge, Mass. The Bulldogs were the top collegiate finishers in the Women's Championship Eights, bested only by the World Champion USA eight and ASR Nereus--a composite crew of the top four pair rowers from the world championships. Additionally, the Elis placed sixth in the Women's Championship Eights and second in the Women's Club Eights.

Elis Gear Up For Head of the Charles
The Yale womens crew team will continue its fall season with the Head of the Charles regatta in Cambridge, Mass., this weekend. The Bulldogs kicked off their season last weekend by winning both events in which they participated at the Head of the Housatonic. They will look to continue their winning ways in the 45th installment of the Head of the Charles this weekend. The Head of the Charles is the world's largest two-day rowing event, with more than 7,500 athletes from around the world competing in 55 different events.

Crew Opens Season with Pair of Victories
The women's crew team kicked off its fall season in fashion today, winning both events in which they participated. The Bulldogs took first, second, third and fifth place in the Collegiate Division I Women's Eights. They also took first and fourth place in the Collegiate Division I Women's Fours.

Womens Crew Begin Fall Season With Head of the Housatonic
This Saturday Oct. 10, the Yale womens crew team will meet its first real test of the fall season with the Head of the Housatonic regatta. This will be the 15th installment of the regatta and it will feature university teams and rowing clubs from throughout the Northeast. The Head of the Housatonic is now the second largest fall race in New England, after the Head of the Charles. At the race, the Elis will be racing one novice four, two collegiate fours and four collegiate eights.

Porter Named EAWRC Varsity Coach of the Year; Maloney Earns Assistant Varsity Coach Of Year Honors
Will Porter, who guided the Yale womens crew to the Willing Trophy for team supremacy at the Eastern Sprints last spring, has been named the 2009 EAWRC Varsity Coach of the Year. In addition, Kate Maloney, who led the Bulldogs novice eight to its first Eastern Sprints title since 1987, was selected as the Assistant Varsity Coach of the Year.

Jamie Redman 08 To Represent U.S. At 2009 World Rowing Championships
Jamie Redman, who helped Yales varsity eight to a pair of NCAA Championships, will represent the United States at the 2009 World Rowing Championships scheduled for Aug. 23-30 in Poznan, Poland. Redman will be in the U.S. womens four without coxswain.

Kate Maloney To Serve As Coach For USRowing Junior National Team
Yale assistant womens crew coach Kate Maloney, who has helped guide the Bulldogs to top four finishes at the NCAA Championship in each of the last three years, will serve as a coach for the USRowing Junior National Team that will compete at the 2009 FISA World Rowing Junior Championships from Aug. 5-8 in Brive-La-Gaillarde, France. Maloney will work with the womens four without a coxswain.

Taylor Ritzel Wins Silver Medal At 2009 Under-23 U.S. National Team
Taylor Ritzel, a rising senior who will captain the 2009-10 Yale womens crew, won a silver medal as part of the United States womens eight at the 2009 World Rowing Under-23 Championships on Sunday. The U.S. finished in 6:21.80, a little over a second behind Great Britain. Ritzel sat in the No. 7 seat.

Taylor Ritzel Named To 2009 Under-23 U.S. National Team
Taylor Ritzel, a rising senior and two-time All-America selection, has been named to the United States National team that will compete in the World Rowing Under 23 Championships scheduled for July 23-26 in Racice, Czech Republic. Ritzel will sit in the No. 7 seat in the womens eight.

Taylor Ritzel Elected 2009-10 Captain
Taylor Ritzel, who has helped the Yale varsity eight to two Ivy League and NCAA championships, has been elected captain of the 2009-10 Bulldogs. Ritzel, a Larkspur, Colo., native, has sat in the varsity boat in each of her three seasons at Yale. She was elected in a team vote held earlier this spring.

Two Yale Boats Advance At Henley Women's Regatta
Both Yale boats that raced on Saturday advanced at the Henley Women's Regatta on the Thames River. The Bulldogs' elite four with coxswain defeated the Thames Rowing Club by a half-a-length, finishing in a time of 5:28. The Yale senior eight cruised to a win over Dublin University with a time of 5:02.
