Class of 2010 Recognized By Rowing News Magazine

Selected As Class Of Decade

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The February issue of Rowing News magazine has a feature on The Best of 2010, and the Yale women's crew program is prominently mentioned. Yale's Class of 2010 was selected as the Class of the Decade, and the United States Women's Eight, which featured Yalies Jamie Redman '08 and Taylor Ritzel '10, was named the Crew of the Year.

In recognizing the Class of the 2010, the magazine wrote, "few classes have had the impact this one had for four years, winning three of four NCAA varsity eight titles. In interviews, Coach Will Porter has attributed the performance of the class to being close, honest and sincere as well as very driven and very competitive."

Redman and Ritzel helped the U.S. eight women's eight win a gold medal at the World Rowing Championship in Lake Karapiro, New Zealand in November.
