No. 8 Yale Heads Back To Charles River To Face No. 16 Radcliffe
Bulldogs Coming Off Strong Performance Against Princeton & Ohio State
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – A strong showing last week against top-ranked Princeton and Ohio State helped Yale's women's crew move up to eighth in this week's CRCA/US Rowing national poll. The Bulldogs hope to build on that performance when they face Radcliffe on Saturday on the Charles River. The first race is slated for 7:36 a.m. The two varsity eights will be competing for the Case Cup.
Yale's varsity eight came within 2.9 seconds of upsetting unbeaten Princeton last Saturday. It was the Tigers' second-closest margin of victory on the season. The Bulldogs' second varsity, varsity four and third varsity eight all finished second as well against the tough competition.
Radcliffe is ranked 16th and the varsity eight is coming off its best result of the season. The Crimson defeated Ohio State, Dartmouth and Northeastern last Sunday on the Charles.
Yale has captured the Case Cup in each of the last seven years. The Bulldogs won all five races last year on the Housatonic River.
