Another Nationally Ranked Opponent For Bulldogs
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale coach Will Porter was encouraged by his team's performance last Saturday against Southern California and Princeton, two of the top crews in the nation. The Bulldogs will hope to build on that when they face their biggest rival, Radcliffe, on Saturday at the Gilder Boathouse. Racing gets under way at 8:30 a.m. The varsity eights will vie for the Case Cup at 9:50 a.m.
"The Yale-Radcliffe rivalry is the oldest and best one in our sport," said Yale head coach Will Porter. "We always look forward to this race. Liz O'Leary is a great coach, and there is a high level of mutual respect between the athletes."
Radcliffe is yet another highly ranked opponent for the Bulldogs. The Crimson was No. 12 in this week's CRCA/US Rowing national poll. Yale is ranked 15th.
Last year, Yale won three of four races against Radcliffe, but the Crimson's varsity eight edged the Bulldogs by three seconds to reclaim the Case Cup.
