Helped Bulldogs To Third Place Team Finish At Ivy League Championship
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Catherine McDermott, a two-year member of Yale's varsity eight, has been named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Pocock All-America first team.
McDermott, a Cazenovia, N.Y., native, sat in the bow of the varsity eight that finished fourth at the Ivy League championship and 12th at the NCAA Championship this spring. She earned CRCA first team All New England honors and also was selected as a CRCA Scholar Athlete earlier in the spring.
As a junior, McDermott was named second team All-New England after helping the varsity eight to a second place finish in the petite final at the NCAA Championship.
Yale has had at least one first team All-American every since 2003.
The Bulldogs finished 10th at the NCAA Championship this spring. It was the 10th time in the last 11 years that Yale has placed in the top-10 in the nation.
