Bulldogs Set For Head Of Charles

Three Crews Competing

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Three Yale crews will compete in the Head of the Charles this weekend in Boston. The Bulldogs will field a championship eight, a championship four and a club eight.

"I am looking forward to seeing how we stack up," said Yale head coach Will Porter. "Fall racing is low key, but every time we put on the blue and white we want to win."

Yale's varsity eight will race in the championship eight on Sunday starting at 3:08. The Bulldogs will go off fourth, just ahead of a US Rowing eight that will feature Yale alum and Olympic gold medalist Taylor Ritzel '10 and a Rowing Canada eight, featuring Yale alum and Olympic silver medalist Ashley Brzozowicz '04.

"We have a hot starting position in the four hole right in front of the USA and Canada Olympic crews," Porter said. "There won't be much time to take in the scenery."

Yale's club eight will be the first to compete on Saturday at 1:35 p.m. The Bulldogs will head out second, right after the University of Tennessee.

Yale's championship four races Sunday at 2:40 p.m. and will go off seventh.
