A Strong Performance For Bulldogs At Princeton Chase
Varsity Eight Finishes Second
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Yale women's crew finished the fall season with a strong performance at the three-mile Princeton Chase on Sunday.
The Bulldogs varsity eight finished second with a time of 14:45.063. Only Virginia was faster in 14:34.417. Yale was the highest finishing Ivy League school.
The Bulldogs raced three other eights. The second varsity was 10th in 15:12.342, the third varsity placed 18th in 15:32.084 and the fourth varsity was 35th in 16:31.260.
"It was a beautiful day in Princeton. Everything was perfect. Great weather, great venue and great racing," said Yale head coach Will Porter. "We raced well. Unfortunately we were blocked in our first varsity so we did not get as clean of a run as we would have liked."
The Princeton Chase was the final race of the fall for the Bulldogs, who open the spring season in mid-March.
"I'm happy with our fall results and ready to transition into the next stage of training," Porter said. "I expect the winter to be a steady burn."
