AUSTIN, Texas – It was perfect opening day for Yale at the Longhorn Invitational. All five Yale crews won races in both the morning and afternoon sessions.

The varsity eight cruised to a nearly 32 –second win over Canisius in the morning session and then easily beat Tulsa in the afternoon.

The second varsity eight and the varsity four also had little trouble dispatching Canisius and Tulsa.

The second varsity four beat Tulsa twice, and the third varsity eight beat Texas in the morning and Tulsa in the afternoon.

All five Yale crews face San Diego in the morning session on Sunday.

"Texas has been a great host," said Yale head coach Will Porter. "The water has been flat, the weather warm and there has been good racing."
