No. 11 Bulldogs Fall To No. 1 Brown

Bears Reclaim Nat & Anne Case Cup

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Yale ran into one of the hottest crews in the nation on Monday. No. 1 Brown reclaimed the Nat & Anne Case Cup by winning all five races over the No. 11 Bulldogs on the Seekonk River.

The closest race of the day came in the varsity eight where Brown edged Yale 5:54.50 to 5:56.30. It was the Bears' fastest time over 2,000 meters since 2006.

Brown also got a very strong performance from its second varsity eight, which finished with a time of 5:56.90. The Bulldogs crossed the line in 6:09.60.

The Bears won the varsity four 6:41.90 to 6:48.80.

Brown also was victorious in the second varsity four and third varsity eight.

Both teams will now gear up for the postseason, which begins at the Ivy League Championship on May 18 on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J.
