Varsity Eight Third; Second Varsity Eight Sixth

The Yale women's crew ended the fall season with an impressive showing at the Princeton 3-Mile Chase on Lake Carnegie. The varsity eight placed third, while the Bulldogs had the fastest second varsity eight time.

Yale also had crews finish 19th and 30th.

The varsity eight crossed the line with a time of 14:23.181, a little less than two seconds slower than second-place Virginia. Brown had the fastest time at 14:14.672.

Yale's second varsity eight finished sixth overall with a time of 14:42.137, ahead of "B" boats from Virginia, Brown and Princeton and a number of "A" boats.

The third varsity eight placed 19th in 15:24.892 and the fourth varsity was 30th in 15:43.285.

"We rowed well but were just a bit flat in our top boat," said Will Porter, the Friends of YWC Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "Our team depth is solid and I like what we are doing to develop our athletes in house. We are just getting started but so far so good."
