CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Elis turned in a strong performance on the Charles River's waters on Sunday, making school history along the way.
In the women's Championship Eight, the Bulldogs finished in sixth place with a time of 17:05.3742. The U.S. National team from the Princeton training center finished in first with a time of 16:34.633. The Elis finished third among college teams.
In the Championship Four race, the Bulldogs finished seventh overall after incurring a 30 second penalty that cost them dearly. Yale won the youth eight race for the first time in school history, topping second-place Brown University by over six seconds.
"[It was] a good showing for Yale women's crew and a good start to our season," Head Coach Will Porter said.
