Fencers to Face Vassar in Home Opener

After a long winter break Yale’s fencers are back in action this Monday. Starting at 7 p.m. they will be hosting Vassar in Payne Whitney Gym’s 7th Floor Fencing Salon. The month of January will be a busy one for Yale as the Vassar dual is the first of three meets, two of which are at home.

The Bulldogs traveled to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., last year and topped the Brewers by a score of 23-4. Most recently, Vassar competed against and lost to six teams in a multi-meet at Harvard. Against Ivy rivals Princeton and Harvard, Vassar fell 1-26 and 6-21, respectively. In a match-up against last year’s national champion, Penn State, Vassar fell 4-23.
