WALTHAM, Mass. – Yale women's fencing shined at Brandeis this weekend, with six fencers making it to the final pool of 12 in their respective events.

Sophomore foilist Anna Zhou had the best result of the day, placing fourth out of a 46-person field. Her teammates, junior Jenny Zhao (10th) and first-year Camille Pham (9th), also advanced to the round of 12 in women's foil, while junior Sarah Pak finished 18th in the event.

Yale was also highly represented in the women's saber final pool: team captain Ilana Kamber placed 8th, while first-year Mary Barnett finished in 9th place. Fellow first-year saber fencer Lauren Kim followed closely behind in 14th place.

In the women's epee event, junior Lucy Friedmann fenced her way to tenth place in the final pool of 12, while sophomore epeeist Michelle Nam finished 13th.

The team will have to wait until this Tuesday, March 13th, to learn which of its fencers has qualified for NCAA Championships. (Qualification is based off of a combination of today's results and performances throughout the season.) The NCAA Championships will be held in State College, Pennsylvania from March 22nd to March 25th.
