NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's fencing team has qualified five of its members for the 2018 NCAA Championships, as announced today by the NCAA. Ever year, only 24 fencers from across the nation qualify for each of the six events (men's and women's epee, saber, and foil). Qualification is based on the results from NCAA Regionals as well as overall season records.

Team captain and senior saber fencer Ilana Kamber will make her second appearance at these 2018 championships, her first being in 2015. Junior Jenny Zhao and sophomore Anna Zhou will also fence for their second times in the women's foil event. In addition, the Bulldogs will send two first-time competitors: sophomore epeeist Michelle Nam and first-year saber fencer Mary Barnett.

The 2018 NCAA Championships will be held next week in State College, Pa. from March 22nd to March 25th.
