WALTHAM, Mass. - Yale wrapped up competition today at the 112th Intercollegiate Fencing Association (IFA) championships held at Brandeis University. The Bulldogs' 3-Weapon team took 5th place in a field of twelve competitors. Columbia claimed the title after a sweep of all three weapons.

The three-weapon team score was comprised of the total scores for each weapon. In the sabre, Yale posted a 7th place finish with a 17-16 record. In foil, the Bulldogs took 6th (16-16). Freshman Katharine Pitt made her presence felt by placing 3rd in the "A strip". Women's epee placed highest for Yale with a 4th-place finish and a 21-12 record. Junior Rebecca Moss trumped the competition by taking first place in the "A strip".
In the individual tournament, Moss took the bronze medal in the epee. Pitt claimed 10th and junior Katherine Arden took 13th.
The Bulldogs begin their NCAA journey next Sunday with the NCAA Regional Championships in Cambridge, Mass. The national tournament will take place on March 21-22 in University Park, Pa.
