Bulldogs Send Five to NCAA Regionals

CAMBRIDGE, MA - The Yale women's fencing team sent five fencers to the NCAA Regional Tournament, a competition that determined which fencers would continue to the National Tournament starting on the 16th. Yale's sole fencer at Nationals will be Carly Guss, in sabre.
Fencers were given a placement within the tournament as well as a regional ranking. Those with regional rankings of 9th or better will continue to Nationals.
Yale's epee squad sent its three starters, Isadora Botwinick, Anne Nguyen, and Tejas Srinivas. Botwinick placed 14th in the tournament and 13th in the region; Nguyen placed 27th in the tournament and 23rd in the region, and Srinivas placed 20th in the tournament and 20th in the region.
Yale's sabre squad was also well represented, with Erin Frey and Carly Guss competing. Frey placed 17th in the tournament and 16th in the region. Guss, the team's only representative at nationals, placed 7th in the tournament and 6th in the region.
