NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Freshman epeeist Rebecca Moss won five bouts on Day Two of the 2007 NCAA Fencing Championships to finish in 20th place. Moss had been in 24th after rounds 1-4 on Saturday but won five of the 10 bouts she fenced on Sunday to make a late push in the rankings. The freshman from Mesa, Az. notched a .348 winning percentage and -28 indicator, on 66 touches scored and 94 touches received.
Earlier in the season, Moss placed 14th at the Junior Olympics, fourth at the IFA Championships and eighth at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships.
Wayne State's Anna Garina claimed the overall epee title. Penn State's Doris Willette snagged the foil crown. And Columbia's Daria Schneider won in the sabre.
