Nov. 30, 2004

Alisa Mendelsohn, Carly Guss, and Sada Jacobson each went 3-0 against their opponents as the women's fencing team defeated NYU 17-10 in Payne Whitney Gym. Yale is now 1-0 in head-to-head competition.

Jacobson dropped only one point in her weapon, the sabre, en route to her 3-0 finish. The Bulldogs won 7-2 in that category, with Carly Guss winning all three and Erin Frey taking one bout.

In foil, Mendelsohn paced the Elis, who defeated NYU 5-4. Diana Schawlowski picked up two wins out of her three bouts.

Erica Korb and Isadora Botwinick each won twice in the epee, and Anne Nyugen won once to give the Elis the 5-4 win in that weapon as well.

Yale travels to Ithaca, NY this weekend to face Cornell.
