NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Yale continues competition on the road this Sunday at the NYU Invitational in New York, N.Y. The Bulldogs will face Notre Dame, which finished second at the NCAA Championship last year, at 8:00 a.m. Northwestern, also a strong team, will be Yale's next opponent at 9:15 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., the Bulldogs will take on a team they beat at last year's Invitational, Wayne State. Following this bout, Yale will fence hosts NYU at 11:45 a.m., hoping to avenge last year's loss. The Bulldogs will close the tournament at 1:30 p.m. against Ohio State, last year's national champions.
The starters for the invitational will be:
Captain Lidia Gocheva said she and the team are excited about fencing some of the best schools in the country. "This is a great opportunity for us to see how we compare to them at the moment," she added.
