Crandall appeared in a career-high 12 games last season after backing up All-Ivy star Krissy Nesburg for two seasons. She posted a team-best 2.23 GAA and .732 save percentage. Crandall has participated in the USFHA Futures program and was selected to attend the National Futures Tournament. In addition, she won a gold medal at the Junior Olympic games. At East Chapel Hill High School, she was a two-time first team All-Carolinas and all-conference selection. At Yale she is a sportscaster for WYBC radio and writes for the Yale Daily News. This past summer she worked for the Baltimore Sun as a sportswriter. Coach Stuper: "Kate's enthusiasm is contagious. She is a great team player who always wants what is best for Yale Field Hockey. Why Yale? After a four-hour visit, I knew I wanted to spend four years here. The education at Yale only begins in the classroom, where I have explored everything from pre-Columbian architecture to South African history. On campus, I am captivated by my peers' boundless talents and intellect. On the field hockey team, I have learned the value of hard work and personal accountability to a greater goal.
