Kristen O'Neill joined the Yale field hockey staff as assistant coach in the fall of 2013.
Prior to coming to New Haven, O’Neill had been at the University of Maine since 2009. She earned her Master of Education in student development in higher education there in 2011, and most recently served as Senior Academic and Career Exploration Advisor. She also spent time working in the university’s career center, and was an Academic Support Graduate Intern for the athletic department. She is on Maine’s Athletic Advisory Board, and is a member of the National Academic Advising Association.
Prior to her most recent stint at Maine, O’Neill was assistant field hockey coach at Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pa., from the fall of 2008 until the spring of 2009 as she worked on a Master of Education in educational leadership.
O’Neill received her B.S. in child development and family relations from Maine in 2008. She played field hockey for the Black Bears from 2003 through 2007, serving as co-captain in her senior year.
O’Neill’s husband, Terry, is an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Yale.
