Yale Takes Five at Spring Tournament
April 7, 2005
The Yale field hockey team demonstrated that it could be a strong force in the Ivy League next fall last Sunday, as it won five out of six games at its annual spring tournament held on Johnson Field. The games were the first for the Bulldogs under new head coach Pam Stuper, who is returning a group of four seniors, eight juniors and five sophomores for the 2005 season.
The turf was divided up into three fields where the twelve teams that traveled to New Haven competed in 7 v. 7 contests.
Yale's only loss of the day was a 1-0 decision to local rival Quinnipiac. The Bulldogs defeated Columbia, Rhode Island, Sacred Heart, UMass and Monmouth. The other participating teams that did not face Yale were Rutgers, Rider, Fairfield, Colgate and Siena.
