NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Sarah Driscoll scored the only goal of the game with 21 minutes, 54 seconds remaining in the second half as Yale edged Rhode Island 1-0 on a cool night at Johnson Field.
"I'm impressed with the team's ability to come back from Saturday's loss," said Yale head coach Ainslee Lamb. "The first win is always the hardest to get, and getting it this early in the season makes us a stronger team. We played a good, consistent 70 minutes of hockey."
Krissy Nesburg made three saves to post the shutout in goal for the Bulldogs, who play defending Ivy League champion Princeton on Saturday.
After an even first half, Yale (1-1) controlled the play in the second half, and outshot the Rams (0-3) 24-7 for the game.
Perry made 14 saves for Rhode Island.
