Princeton, NJ - Lauren Ehrlichman scored three goals to lead Princeton to a 5-1 victory over Yale in the two teams' Ivy opener. Emily Palilonis scored Yale's only goal with no time left on the clock on a penalty stroke after the ball was knocked down by a Princeton player's hand.
Ehrlichman opened the scoring 7:15 into the game, and the score remained 1-0 until she tallied again 14:35 into the second half. A stretch of three Tiger goals in a span of 5:12 late in the half put the game away before Palilonis broke up the shutout.
Elizabeth Friedlander made eight saves for the Bulldogs as Princeton (1-2) outshot Yale (1-2) 23-9. The Tigers also got nine penalty corners to Yale's five.
Yale travels to William & Mary Friday for a 7 p.m. start.
