NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Freshman Katie Reinprecht scored four goals to lead No. 15 Princeton to a 6-1 win over Yale Saturday afternoon at Johnson Field. The Tigers also got a pair of goals from Katie Kinzer.
Princeton (6-1, 2-0 Ivy League) opened the scoring with a goal by Reinprecht at 5:29. Junior back Julia Weiser evened the score with a penalty-corner goal off of assists by junior midfielder Katie Cantore and sophomore midfielder/back Marissa Waldemore at 12:31, but the Tigers responded quickly. Kinzer made it 2-1 Princeton three minutes later, and Reinprecht extended the lead two minutes after that.
Reinprecht then made it a hat trick at 28:45. Princeton finished the first half with a 13-2 advantage in shots.
Reinprecht scored again at 36:51 of the second, tying her with six other players for the Princeton record for goals in a game. Kinzer capped the scoring eight minutes later.
Sophomore Katie Bolling came on in relief of Charlotte Goins (10 saves) in goal for Yale for the final 23 minutes. Bolling stopped all six shots on goal that she faced. Cynthia Wray made one save for Princeton.
Yale (2-4, 0-2 Ivy League) returns to Johnson Field Sunday at 1:00 against Lock Haven.
