NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Yale freshman Trish Bissett scored twice as Yale blanked Quinnipiac 3-0 at Johnson Field. Yale's Jana Halfon scored the only goal of the first half after rebounding a save by Quinnipiac goalkeeper Erin McKay. "One of our goals this year was to completely dominate an entire game," said Yale head coach Ainslee Lamb. "We never had before, but we were finally able to do it tonight. I am impressed with our effort."
Bissett opened up the game for the Bulldogs after scoring off of a penalty stroke in the first three minutes of the second half. Bissett scored again with 24:29 left in the game after receiving a pass from midfield made by Meredith Hudson.
This is the second time this season that Yale has shut out an opponnent. Yale goalkeeper Krissy finished with three saves.
McKay made 10 saves for the Bobcats (4-7).
Yale (4-5) hosts Dartmouth on Saturday at noon at Johnson Field.
