NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Two goals in a span of just over three minutes midway through the second half helped Dartmouth break open a 2-1 game en route to beating Yale 4-1 at a soggy Johnson Field Saturday afternoon. Cat Lindroth scored Yale's only goal, while Elizabeth Friedlander made six saves.

In a driving rain storm, the Big Green (5-5) scored first on a penalty corner in the 13th minute, with Whitney Waugh knocking one past Friedlander. Abby Brown increased the lead to 2-0 14 minutes later. Lindroth tipped one past Dartmouth goalkeeper Lauren Balukjian (one save) to cut the lead to 2-1 shortly before halftime. Lindsay Collins picked up an assist on the play.

The Big Green controlled play for much of the second half, but it wasn't until Waugh (on a penalty corner) and Lindsay Gossage (unassisted) scored in the 56th and 59th minutes respectively that Dartmouth took command on the scoreboard. Yale could not convert on any of its seven penalty corners.

"Dartmouth played well and stuck to their game plan," said Yale head coach Pam Stuper. "We didn't have a good game."

The Bulldogs (3-8) return to action Sunday, hosting New Hampshire at 2 p.m.
