NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Despite goalkeeper Krissy Nesburg's 12 saves, No. 17 Harvard scored two goals in the game's first three minutes and added a third in the second half to shut out the Bulldogs. Harvard's first goal came after Mina Pell redirected a shot from Elizabeth Andrews on a penalty corner at 32:49. Less than one minute later, Kate McDavitt guided a Mina Pell pass past Nesburg at 32:02.
Harvard's third goal came after Beth Sackovich scored unassisted after a battle in front of the goal cage at 29:25 into the second half.
Less than fifteen minutes into the second half, a penalty stroke was awarded to Harvard, but Nesburg was able to stop Tiffany Eganczyk's shot. Sweeper Meredith Hudson also had a defensive save for the Bulldogs.
Most of Yale's 11 shots came off of penalty corners. Harvard goalkeeper Katie Zacarian had five saves in the second half to seal the shutout for the Crimson (9-3)
Yale (6-6) travels to face Holy Cross on Wednesday evening.
