Box Score

HOBOKEN, N.J. - Columbia's Kim Branich scored 1:57 into the game and that was enough for a 1-0 Lion win over Yale Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs were shut out by the Columbia tandem of Kristina George (three saves) and Gena Miller (five saves).

The shot by Branich, on a penalty corner, wound up being the only shot on goal for the first half for Columbia (7-8, 1-5 Ivy). It was also one of only two corners for the Lions for the half. Yale (6-10, 1-5) got off three shots on George but she stopped them all before Miller took over at 24:59.

Yale outshot the Lions 12-4 in the second half but could not get the equalizer. Grace Morris (six shots) and Lindsay Collins (five) continued to generate most of the Bulldog offense. Kate Crandall made three saves.

The loss was Yale's sixth one-goal loss of the season. Yale has not allowed more than one goal in any of its last five games.

The Bulldogs conclude their season next Saturday, hosting Brown at Noon.
