Rachel Lentz '07 Helps U.S. to Bronze Medal at Maccabiah Games

BUENOS AIRES - Rachel Lentz '07 helped the U.S. to a bronze medal in field hockey at the 11th Pan American Maccabiah games in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the end of December. Lentz had a goal in Team USA's 7-2 win over Argentina's A team in the bronze medal game.
More than 4,000 athletes from more than 20 countries were in attendance at the event, with the U.S. competing in 17 sports. The U.S. field hockey team went 4-3-1 overall in the tournament, including three wins against Argentina's A team.
Lentz earned second team All-Ivy honors as a senior, when she tied for the league lead with nine goals and was a two-time Ivy League Player of the Week selection. She also tied for third in the league in points with 19.
Lentz, a history of science/history of medicine major, was an Academic All-Ivy selection as a senior and was a four-time NFHCA Division I National Academic Team honoree. She is currently working at Cornell-Weill Medical College and plans on attending medical school this fall. She ran the New York City marathon this past November and was part of a group that raised over $110,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
