Yale Hires Lacey Pustizzi as Assistant Field Hockey Coach

New Haven, CT - Yale has hired Lacey Pustizzi as assistant field hockey coach for the 2004-2005 season. Pustizzi joins the Bulldogs from Colgate, where she had been an assistant coach since 2002.

Pustizzi is a 2002 graduate of Hartwick College, where she was a two-year captain and four-year letterwinner. She lead the Hawks to a 60-24 record over four years, including two NCAA tournament appearances and a New York State Collegiate Athletic Association championship (1998). Pustizzi won Hartwick's M. Beal Banks Award in 2002, given to individuals who have best pursued excellence in their sport to the best of their ability and have enthused others with their dedication and commitment. She also played lacrosse and softball.

Pustizzi served as assistant junior varsity field hockey coach at Hartwick from the fall of 2001 through the spring of 2002. After graduation, she joined the Colgate staff and worked intensively with defensive players and goalkeepers. In 2003 she mentored freshman Jacque DeMarco, who finished the season tied for fifth on the single-season shutouts list with four and earned two Patriot League Rookie of the Week awards.
