Halfon Named Ivy League Player of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Yale senior forward Jana Halfon (Richmond, VA) was named Ivy League Player of the Week after she led the Bulldogs to two consecutive wins last weekend.

Last Saturday against Cornell, Halfon assisted on Yale's first two goals as the Bulldogs rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Big Red, 3-2. In last Sunday's contest against Vermont, she scored Yale's first goal in a 4-2 victory.

Halfon is currently tied for the team lead in points with seven (2 goals, 3 assists).

Halfon has started every game for Yale since halfway through her freshman season. In 2002, Halfon was named to the NFHCA All-Academic All-America squad. She finished second on the team in assists with seven and third in points with 13.

Yale (3-4, 1-1 Ivy) hosts the University of Connecticut on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in New Haven.
