NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Following a win over Longwood Tuesday in Florida, the Yale women's golf team travels to Williamsburg, Va., for the C&F Bank Invitational, hosted by William and Mary. The tournament will be held at Ford's Colony, and will pit the Bulldogs against the likes of the host Tribe, Penn State and Lehigh.
Against Longwood, the Bulldogs were sparked by their freshmen combination of Sun Park and Seo Hee Moon. Moon posted the best score of the match (70), while her classmate Sun finished at 72. For team competitors, Lily Boettcher had the next-highest Yale score at 75. Senior Harriet Owers-Bradley also had a big day competing as an individual, firing a 73 to best all of Longwood's squad. Sophomore Alex Lipa (75) and Joy Kim (76) also had strong showings competing individually.
This weekend will be a test for the Bulldogs, who finished sixth against similar competition at the highly-competitive Nittany Lion Invitational in the fall. It is one of just three tune-ups Yale gets before the Ivy League Championships in late April. The Bulldogs will be back in Virginia next weekend at the Georgetown Hoya Invitational.
