Bulldogs 2011 Ivy League Champions, Earn NCAA Bid

NORTHFIELD, N.J. - The Yale women's golf team bested the Ancient Eight field at the Atlantic City Country Club to claim the 2011 Ivy League Championship Sunday, earning the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament in the process. The Bulldogs were led by freshman Seo Hee Moon, who tied for third overall in the individual standings (+10 on the weekend). Moon was named Ivy League Player of the Year and Ivy League Rookie of the Year for her efforts. Making the victory all the more sweet was the fact that the Blue-and-White's closest competition as the weekend came to a close was archrival Harvard, who finished four strokes off Yale's pace.

Senior Harriet Owers-Bradley closed out her tournament in style, also finishing in the individual top ten with rounds of 77, 77, and a huge closing-day 74. Continuing the mix of youth and experience that sparked the Bulldogs all season, freshman Sun Gyoung Park finished tied for 16th as Yale's third-best finisher with a closing-round 74, followed by captain Alyssa Roland, who rounded out the weekend with a stellar Sunday 73. Sophomore Joy Kim also finished in the top 20, tied for 18th at +21.

This is Yale's seventh Ivy League title, and first since 2006.
