DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - After 18 holes at the NCAA's East Regional at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., the Yale women's golf team sits in 20th with a combined score of 310. The clubhouse leader is Coastal Carolina, whose combined 286 topped the field, followed by Alabama (287) and Cal (290).
Sun Gyoung Park led the way for the Bulldogs, firing an even-par 72, good for a tie for 11th, but just three strokes behind the day's leaders Jessica Alexander (Coastal Carolina) and Jessica Negron (Florida State). Classmate Seo Hee Moon is five strokes off the pace (+2), while seniors Alyssa Roland and Harriet Owers-Bradley, as well as sophomore Joy Kim, were all +10 on the day.
The Bulldogs have plenty of time to climb the leaderboard, as 36 holes of golf remain. Yale will have the morning rounds tomorrow, before closing things out Saturday afternoon for the regional's final round.
