Personal: Parents are Thomas Boettcher and Pam Olson Vennerberg. Older sister, Evelyn, rowed for the University of Pennsylvania. Father played football and wrestled for the United States Air Force Academy. Paternal cousin, Doug Blubaugh, was an Olympic gold medalist in wrestling.
