Bulldogs Climb Leaderboard in Second Round
Up to Ninth With a Round to Go
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — On the second day of play at the Sept. 28-30 Nittany Lion Invitational, the Yale women's golf team persevered across the difficult Penn State Blue Course to climb to ninth place, up from 12th yesterday.
After Saturday's second round, the Bulldogs are at +34 and in the same position they finished the tournament in last year. With one round of play remaining on Sunday, the Yale team will look to continue their climb up the leaderboard.
The Nittany Lion Invitational is traditionally one of the most competitive tournaments Yale competes in during the fall season; this year, there are 16 other strong teams in the field.
Ahead of the Bulldogs at the moment are two Ivy League rivals, Princeton and Harvard, who closed the day in fourth and sixth place, respectively.
After the Nittany Lion Invitational, Yale will travel to the Oct. 7-9 Lady Pirate Intercollegiate at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, N.C., and then the Oct. 20-21 Lehigh Invitational at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa.
Sunday's final round will take place in pairings with an 8:30 a.m. start.
