Yale Heads to Ivy League Championship

Bulldogs in Fine Form

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Yale women's golf team will look to capitalize on its recent momentum when it heads to Trump National Golf Club for the Apr. 26-28 Ivy League Championship.

The 54-hole tournament in Bedminster, N.J., will challenge the Bulldogs to build on successful performances in past weeks. Yale clinched victory at the Apr. 14-15 Brown Invitational and scored a second-place finish at the Apr. 8-9 Hoya Invitational.

At the Brown tournament, the Bulldogs beat out Ancient Eight rivals Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth and Harvard, so the team is shaping up well to contend for the Ivy League Championship.

Several members of the Yale team enter the Ivy League Championship with strong performances under their belt. Junior Sun Gyoung Park tied for first at the Brown Invitational, while sophomore Marika Liu finished in sixth and sophomore Shreya Ghei and junior Seo Hee Moon both tied for seventh.

Yale last won the Ivy League Championship in 2011, when the Bulldogs claimed the title by four strokes.

On Friday, golfers will tee off starting at 11:30 a.m. The par-72 Trump National course measures 7,560 yards.
