Yale heads to Pirate Invitational
NEW HAVEN, Conn.—Yale women's golf will travel to Bedminster, N.J., for the inaugural Apr. 5-6 Pirate Invitational at Trump National Golf Club.
Yale will compete against an 18-team field that includes host Seton Hall, as well as Bucknell, Boston University, Brown, Central Connecticut State, William & Mary, Columbia, Dartmouth, Hofstra, Long Island, Princeton, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, Siena College, St. John's and Pennsylvania. Four of those teams—Pennsylvania, Seton Hall, St. John's and Yale—contended for first place at last week's Hoya Invitational.
Golfers will play two rounds, one each on Saturday and Sunday. They will tackle a formidable par-72, 6,143-yard course. They will tee off at 9:00 a.m. on each day.
Yale will look to continue its very strong play. Yale will look particularly to the tandem of star freshmen Elisabeth Bernabe and Sandy Wongwaiwate, who finished 12th and fifth, respectively, at last week's event. Senior Seo Hee Moon is also coming off one of her strongest showings of the season: she finished in third place. Yale collectively has yet to finish outside of the top three at any event this season.
