Strong Results At All Levels
NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Six members of the Yale women's golf team were named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for Division I on Wednesday. The announcement was made in Coral Springs, Fla., and recognized only 664 women's collegiate golfers across all divisions around the country with the prestigious honor.
Bulldogs of all year levels shared in the honors. Senior Seo Hee Moon and juniors Caroline Rouse and Shreya Ghei were recognized among the upperclassmen, while sophomore Deanna Song and freshmen Sara Garmezy and Sandy Wongwaiwate also received All-American Scholar honors. Both Rouse and Song also received the award last year, after posting stellar academic results alongside their golfing endeavors.
The criteria for selection for the honor are some of the toughest in collegiate athletics. To be eligible, players must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
The All-American Scholar Team recognition adds to the Bulldogs' results this past season, which included victories at the Dartmouth Invitational, the Yale Intercollegiate and the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate.
