Princeton, N.J.— After three rounds of competitive play, the Yale women's golf team placed third at the Princeton Invitational and had two golfers in the top ten. The team played consistently throughout the tournament and this marks their highest finish this season.
Standout junior Jennifer Peng dominated the field throughout the three rounds of play. She ended round three with a score of 78 and an overall score of 220. Her phenomenal play landed her tied for second place; her best finish of the season this far.
Senior Elisabeth Bernabe made a major comeback during the third round, ending with a round three score of 71 and an overall score of 221. Her incredible play on the field today moved her up nine places, moving her to fifth place individually. Senior Sandy Wongwaiwate ended round three with a score of 79 and tied for 16th individually.
Freshman Felicia Chang continues to demonstrate her abilities to perform, scoring T28 individually and ending round three with a score of 78. Junior Jayshree Sarathy continued to be a steady presence on the field, helping round out the team, earning a round three score of 81.
After three rounds of hard competition, the Bulldogs finished with an overall score of 897, earning them third place. The team has consistently improved after each match, putting them in a great position for next week's home tournament.
