NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's golf team performed well at round one of the Yale Intercollegiate Friday, and junior Jennifer Peng continues her impressive streak, ending round one with a score of 70.
Yale excelled on its home course, The Course at Yale, turning in strong performances across the board. Yale entered two teams into the Intercollegiate. Yale's primary team (294) sits in fifth place, trailing Dartmouth, Columbia, USF-Bulls and Princeton. The Yale Blue team (315) currently sits in 16th place overall.
Peng continues to deliver each time she steps on the field. She ended round one with a score of 70, tied for fifth place among golfers. Sophomore Julie Luo continues to be a steady presence on the field, scoring 72 and landing in T16 after round one. Freshman Beryl Wang gave a standout performance during round one shooting 73, currently placing her 19th individually. Seniors Elisabeth Bernabe and Sandy Wongwaiwate both played consistently during round one, turning in identical rounds of 76.
Play continues Saturday morning. Yale will look to lower its scores and continue moving up toward the top spot.
