Bulldogs Take Fourth at Hoya Invitational

FINAL DAY OF PLAY MOST COMPETITIVE OF THE TOURNAMENT
 
 
BEALLSVILLE, Md.– On the final day off the Hoya Invitational, the Yale women's golf team put up a fight to stay within the top scoring teams. They ended the day with an overall team score of 913 (+49), landing them in fourth place out of fifteen teams.

 

Not only did the Bulldogs work well as a whole, but individually, three members of the team ranked in the top thirty golfers for the tournament. Junior Jennifer Peng scored a 78 (+6) in the final round, earning her second place individually. Senior Sandy Wongwaiwate gave one of her best performances of the spring season at the tournament, also scoring a 78 (+6) during the third round. She ended the tournament in T18th. Sophomore Julie Luo saved the best for last as she gave an incredible performance during the final round of the tournament. She scored a 76 (+4), improving from earlier rounds by three strokes.

 

Also giving a great final round performance, senior Elisabeth Bernabe scored a 76 (+4). Rookie Beryl Wang held her own during the tournament scoring an 83.

 

The Bulldogs have come a long way this season. This tournament marks their best team performance and score for the spring season. With Ivies right around the corner, the Bulldogs are starting to look more and more like major contenders for the championship.
