NEW HAVEN, Conn.--The Yale women's golf team will continue its successful spring season this weekend at the Hartford Invitational. The tournament will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, Conn.
The Bulldogs will be looking to build off their major win at last week's Navy Invitational. Junior Julie Luo's outstanding play led to a first-place finish, marking her first collegiate victory. She will look to this weekend to continue her hot streak of performances during this spring season. Senior Jennifer Peng is also another powerhouse player to be on the lookout for this weekend. Coming in two-for-two in top-ten finishes this season, Peng looks to continue her consistent performances, move up in the rankings, and close her collegiate golfing career with a bang.
First-year Gabrielle DeSombre continues to impress with a string of strong performances during her first full season at the collegiate level. Tying for eighth place at last weekend's tournament, DeSombre continues to demonstrate her ability to perform under pressure.
Round out the team, sophomores Felicia Chang and Beryl Wang will play a critical role in helping the Bulldogs claim victory for the second week in a row. This weekend's tournament marks the last event before the team heads into the Ivy Championships. Performance this week will be key to keeping up their momentum and morale going into championships.
