Southern Tour Includes 4 States
NEW HAVEN, Conn.—The Yale Women's Golf Team comes back in full swing with a packed spring schedule of six tournaments leading up to the Ivy League Championship. Its season opener takes place on February 16-17 at the Reynold's Lake Oconee Collegiate Championship hosted by Mercer University.
The Elis also travel to North Carolina for the Pinehurst Intercollegiate. The famous Pinehurst course has been home to competitive women's golf since the first Women's North & South Amateur in 1903.
Following the Pinehurst Invitational, the team continues its Southern tour by heading to Williamsburg, Va., to compete in the Kingsmill Intercollegiate hosted by William and Mary. The end of the March has the Bulldogs further South at the Harvard Spring Invite hosted at the Orange County National Golf Center in Orlando, Fla.
The final tournament before the league championship is back in Connecticut at the Hartford Invitational. The tournament is set to take place at the Tumblebrook Country Club. The Elis try to qualify for the NCAA Championships on April 19-21 at the Ivy League tournament, which is hosted this year at The Ridge at Back Brook in Ringoes, N.J.
After a successful opening to her collegiate career, Ami Gianchandani '22 will be one to watch throughout the spring season. She finished the fall season with all top 15 finishes and two tournament wins.
