Bulldogs Tied for Eighth After Day One of Donnis Thompson Invite

KANE'OHE, Hawaii - The women's golf team opened the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational with a score of 311, placing the Bulldogs in a three-way tie for eighth place with Nagoya University and Osaka Gakuin University.

Lindsay Hong and Ellen Brophy led the Bulldogs with rounds of 77 tying them for 29th. Natasha Spackey and Erica Im followed closely behind with rounds of 78 and 79 respectively. Cassie Boles rounded out Yale's five-person team with a score of 87.

Yale's best round of the day, however, came from the individual entry of Taylor Lee, who shot a two-over 74. Yale's other individual entries, Alyssa Roland and Harriet Owers-Bradley, shot 81 and 83 respectively.

Arizona jumped out to the early lead with a team score of 286, paced by the top two individual scores of Alison Walshe (66) and Amanda Wilson (71). Close behind is Oklahoma State with a score of 291. Rounding out the top five are Arizona State, University of Texas El Paso and the University of Hawaii.

Yale will resume play Tuesday morning with 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
